Timpy One of the first ambient records I ever heard and remains a high bar other records are compared to. It's a classic that will have a home in any ambient-lover's collection. Favorite track: Hyperborea.

Gunnison6610 I have myself returning to this album quite often. I adore the cold and barren atmospheres of all of it. A true classic of the ambient genre :) Favorite track: The Silent Orchestra.

CD2 contains Biosphere's soundtrack to the Russian silent movie 'Man With A Movie Camera', in collaboration with Per Martinsen aka Mental Overdrive, two bonus tracks from the Japanese version of Substrata (FLCP 1009) on For Life Records/Paradise Island, 'The Eye Of The Cyclone' and 'Endurium', plus the commissioned work Laika.

This album is probably the most striking thing that has ever happened to me musically. I still can't get used to the richness and unpredictability of the sound, it keeps me surprised after so many listenings. The voice sample in the title track is especially noteworthy. First, I couldn't fully discern the words. But one day I saw the iconic film the sample is taken from — and it was mind-bending to realize that I'm hearing that very phrase.
